An Apostille (ah-po-steel) is a French word meaning certification.

Individuals who travel abroad to live, work, or attend school may be asked at some point to have documents Apostilled or Authenticated.
An Apostille is a certification provided under the Hague Convention of 1961 for authenticating documents for use in foreign countries.

Why Do I Need An Apostille?

If you plan on traveling to a foreign country to live, work, or attend school, you may be asked to obtain an FBI Criminal History Summary Report, also known as an FBI Background Check or Departmental Order. Fingerprint Innovations’s systems have the ability to transmit fingerprints electronically for expedited processing of your background check. If that is not enough, we take it one step further! Many countries will request FBI background Checks to be Apostilled which is now one of Fingerprint Innovations’s services!

Q. How do I get my Departmental Order apostilled?

If you require an Apostille please let us know at the time of printing and we can arrange to have a complete Apostilled document sent to you. The apostille service is $175 for the first document and $30 each additional document. It can take anywhere from 3-5 weeks to receive a complete Apostilled document. If you need more information, please contact us.

Q. What if my fingerprints get rejected?

If your fingerprints are rejected, the FBI Channeler offers one free resubmission. If your prints are rejected for a second time you will need to submit another request and pay the channeling fee again. A rejection is considered a result.

Q. What information do I need?

You need a valid State or Federally issued form of identification so we can prove your identity. A valid driver’s license or passport is acceptable.

Q. Do I bring any documentation?

We typically don't need any additional documentation other than your identity documents.

Q. What payment do you accept?

We accept cash, or any major credit card. (Visa/Mastercard/Discovery/American Express)
